This course provides an introduction to the building construction process with an emphasis on site preparation, sequencing, and foundational trade skills. Participants receive hands-on training in the installation of steel framing and wall systems, along with key residential and commercial construction practices. Instruction includes thermal and moisture protection, drywall installation, door and ceiling systems, stair components, roofing applications, and both interior and exterior trim and finish work. The course also introduces emerging practices in mass timber construction. In addition, trainees develop essential leadership and workplace skills that support productivity, communication, and professionalism on an active construction site. The carpentry program aligns with the standards set by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER).
Materials Needed: Textbooks will be included in the cost of tuition. Personal Protective Equipment will also be provided but students may supply their own.
Certification Information: Upon completion of all Level 2 modules, students will receive the NCCER Carpentry Level 2 Certificate.
